RPG DICE – 3D Model

This render features a pair of translucent red D&D dice sitting on an old-school blue dungeon map, bringing some nostalgic vibes to life. I created this in Cinema 4D with Redshift Render, focusing on getting the lighting just right. The GI adds a faint color cast from the dice onto the map, giving it that realistic, immersive feel.

Both dice landed on 20, a “double crit” in D&D speak, which felt like the perfect metaphor for 2020. That year was one big, exhausting critical hit for everyone. This piece captures some of that intensity while tipping the hat to the creativity and resilience we leaned on to get through it.

This was a fun way to experiment with Redshift's translucency and lighting while tying it to something personal.
