This project is based on my mom’s kitchen from when I was growing up. The house was built in late 70's with a color scheme to match. That avocado green paired with dark wood is burned into my brain as one of the most comforting palettes ever.
This kitchen was where everything happened. I carved pumpkins, played D&D, worked on school projects, did my homework, and ate all my meals there. It’s also where we had steak tartare every Christmas, which is basically raw meat on a buttered toast with egg, paprika, raw onions and seasoning mixed in. Weird, but good and very hard to get made properly in the south suburbs (you need a very clean meat so you don't get sick).
This kitchen was the center of so many great memories, all wrapped up in that retro vibe that still feels like home. It was a lot of fun to model and bring it to life.
This project was inspired by what I learned in the Ultimate Guide to Stylized 3D Modeling class from @mographmentor, taught by the incredibly talented @therustedpixel.
