The FEMA "Today Is The Day Before" campaign emphasizes the importance of disaster preparedness and resilience, encouraging individuals and communities to take proactive steps before disasters strike. This aligns with FEMA's broader strategic goals of fostering equity in emergency management, building resilience, and reducing the cycle of response and recovery.
FEMA had a deadline to make some final some final corrections and tweaks and brought us onboard to take it to the finish line. We worked as the animator and compositor on the titles and end-tag as well as some simple edit corrections. Many prototypes and version were animated and tried out before they decided to go with the simple fade-up titles and re-timed dusk shot at the end.
Their messaging often incorporates actionable tips, such as creating emergency plans, assembling disaster supply kits, and staying informed about local risks. The campaign also leverages partnerships and community outreach to ensure a wide impact, targeting diverse audiences, including vulnerable populations, with accessible resources. The campaign contributed to FEMA's goals of improving community preparedness and engagement.
