The 2016 brand video for Best Friends Animal Society was part of their broader push to raise awareness for their mission of achieving no-kill status for animals. Best Friends has seen notable success with its outreach campaigns and initiatives, including those that were launched around that time. A significant achievement from these efforts is their involvement in the NKLA (No-Kill Los Angeles) initiative, which greatly impacted the community by helping shelters adopt more animals and reduce euthanasia rates.
Joining forces with art director @jasonmckean to support an incredible cause: ending the need for kill shelters. This animated kinetic-type piece was a joy to work on. Personally touched by the impact of shelters, we were honored to contribute to this non-profit. The challenge? Stirring emotions, sharing hope, and staying genuine. Thanks to Jason's brilliant design, it effortlessly struck the perfect balance.
By 2020, Best Friends had helped multiple shelters improve their save rates significantly. For instance, shelters in Texas saw a 90%+ save rate, which resulted in thousands of fewer animals being put down each year
